Rather Gutted...
All due to the fact that I succumbed to the dreaded lurgy going around our office the week before... with juts days to go I was throwing lemsips down my neck, in a vain attempt to ward off a nasty cold and sore throat. But by Thursday it had developed to a wracking cough that was, er, let's just say 'productive' (in case anyone's trying to eat tea!) and felt so lousy it was obvious that even contemplating running 46 miles around soggy Wales was not going to be the greatest idea in the world. I couldn't even contemplate the drive down!
The way I felt when I woke up on Saturday it was the right decision. I wouldn't have been up for it and may have developed double pneumonia if I'd tried! I'm feeling much better now but still got a cough.
Really gutted as this is usually a great weekend :-(
Ah well, to compensate for a Beacons Ultra Race Report, here are a few Autum pics from my walk/ run the weekend before...

Back From Sunny Spain!
We went for some walks along the beaches of La Mata and Santa Pola, and Monday we took the train to Alicante and walked up to the castle, which is situated on a promontary overlooking the city. There is apparently a lift, which wasn't working- it's a pretty long climb so must have been good exercise!
I wasn't feeling too great when I got back though, and have had problems with an abcess under one of my teeth, which flares up from time to time- I guess the tooth will have to come out eventually.
I have the Brecons Ultra very soon and am not feeling all that confident to be honest! I seem to struggle to find time to train- people have got to stop having birthdays!!
I will leave you with a few pics from Spain...
